The five-question filter

1. Can I legally stay long enough for this trip’s goal?
2. Is housing + internet available in my budget at my work hours?
3. Do I have a health and safety plan that fits my risk tolerance?
4. Will this place support my energy—quiet, social, nature, or urban density?
5. What is my exit plan if the first neighborhood is wrong?

Score each question 1–5. If any critical item scores a 1, fix it before booking long-term housing. A great cafe scene cannot compensate for an unworkable visa or nightly blackouts.
